Eligibility
Who Can Apply to be Hosted by The Modding Foundation?
We host modding projects that aim to enhance the gaming experience for players and developers alike. If you have a project that aligns with our mission and values, we encourage you to apply for hosting.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for fiscal hosting by TMF, your initiative must:
- Be non-profit in nature: This means that any funds raised must be used to further the project's goals and not for personal profit.
- Lack a separate legal entity: This means that your project is not registered as a separate legal entity, such as a corporation or LLC.
- Align with our mission and values: Your project should aim to enhance the gaming experience for players and developers alike.
- Have a clear plan for sustainability: Your project should demonstrate how it will continue to operate and serve its community over the long term.
- Be open to collaboration: Your project should be willing to collaborate with other projects and initiatives within the modding community.
- Prioritize community engagement: Your project should actively seek input and feedback from its community and be responsive to their needs.
What's not required:
We want to lower the barrier of entry for projects seeking hosting. Therefore, we do not require:
- Application fees
- Minimum budget balance
- A minimum annual fundraising amount (but it is generally recommended to have a plan for fundraising)
- A fixed duration of commitment
- A specific organizational structure
