The Modding Foundation

Eligibility

Who Can Apply to be Hosted by The Modding Foundation?

We host modding projects that aim to enhance the gaming experience for players and developers alike. If you have a project that aligns with our mission and values, we encourage you to apply for hosting.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for fiscal hosting by TMF, your initiative must:

  • Be non-profit in nature: This means that any funds raised must be used to further the project's goals and not for personal profit.
  • Lack a separate legal entity: This means that your project is not registered as a separate legal entity, such as a corporation or LLC.
  • Align with our mission and values: Your project should aim to enhance the gaming experience for players and developers alike.
  • Have a clear plan for sustainability: Your project should demonstrate how it will continue to operate and serve its community over the long term.
  • Be open to collaboration: Your project should be willing to collaborate with other projects and initiatives within the modding community.
  • Prioritize community engagement: Your project should actively seek input and feedback from its community and be responsive to their needs.

What's not required:

We want to lower the barrier of entry for projects seeking hosting. Therefore, we do not require:

  • Application fees
  • Minimum budget balance
  • A minimum annual fundraising amount (but it is generally recommended to have a plan for fundraising)
  • A fixed duration of commitment
  • A specific organizational structure
